Bathroom Drain Cleaning-
Sink, Tub and Clogged Toilet Drain Cleaning

Serving Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington

Clogged sinks, showers/tubs, laundry drains, and floor drains are all extremely common occurrences, especially in high traffic businesses and homes. These types of drains are referred to as secondary drain lines in your home, as all of these drains lead to a larger mainline drain that leads out of the building. Typically, when one of these secondary drains becomes clogged, it does not cause issues with other drains which is good news. Although a secondary drain can be annoying and troublesome, it usually can be taken care of quickly and without much resistance. AAA Drain Cleaning has the equipment and know-how to get these lines flowing again fast.

Items That Commonly Cause Backed up Sink, Tub, & Clogged Toilet Drains

Below are a list of common culprits for clogged drains. As much as possible we encourage you to avoid flushing these items down the toilet, or putting them down your drains.

  • Hair
  • Lint
  • Cooking oil, bacon grease, egg shells, coffee grounds and potato peelings
  • Harsh Chemicals and paint
  • Feminine products including pads, tampons and panty liners.
  • Hygiene products including gauze, cotton ball, q-tips, diapers, wet wipes and flushable wipes.
  • Paper products including paper towels and heavy napkins.

Preventing Clogged Toilets and Drains

Most everyone uses drains on a daily basis, and because of this they require preventative measures to ensure optimal functioning working order. Below are some things you can do to prevent clogged drains in your home or business.

  • Toss out old towels and bathmats as they can clog your laundry drains through the cloth fibers that shed during the wash cycle.
  • After cooking with oils and other fats be sure to wipe your pan or pot out with a paper towel to remove any excess before washing.
  • Watch out for small children, often they will flush miscellaneous items down the toilet.
  • Avoid using acid based drain cleaners to fix troublesome clogs as they tend to damage drains which can lead to serious pipe problems.
  • When using a garbage disposal be sure to run plenty of cold water during and after use.

Pour a little bleach or vinegar down your bathroom drains once a week then run hot water through; this is a popular preventative measure that can help prevent clogs due to hair and soap scum.
